Kali- Hindu, daughter of Shiva, high priestess of the Thuggees.
Hindu goddess associated with empowerment. The name Kali comes from kāla, which means black, time, death, lord of death.
To quote “The Little Book of Hindu Deities” by Sanjay Patel - “Kali, the ‘Black One’, is said to have shot from Durga’s forehead when the protecting goddess was in a rage, and so she takes the form of the great goddess at her most terrifying.”
That is how Kali was created. She is not Shiva’s daughter. She is Shiva’s CONSORT. See that dude lying in the battlefield under Kali’s feet? That’s Shiva bringing Kali out of a righteous rage by literally guilt-tripping her.
To quote further - “Though the fiercest of the gods, Kali is quite often mistaken as the goddess of death (this is actually the Hindu god Yama’s responsibility). She is, in fact, the goddess of kala (time) and is thought to end our illusions and free us from the cycle of karma by bringing us liberation from our bodies.”
